The mission of the Community Food Kitchen is to provide a free,
well balanced meal for the homeless and anyone, in Wytheville and neighboring areas, who is hungry. It is our goal to do this in a caring
and respectful manner to those in need.

Description

Started in 2012, the Community Food Kitchen is a volunteer program of local churches, under the umbrella of Helping Overcome Poverty’s Existence, inc. (h.o.p.e.)   the purpose is to provide a free, well balanced meal, twice a week, to the homeless and anyone who is hungry and to do this in a caring and  respectful manner to those in need.

Location:

The Community Food Kitchen is located in the Fellowship Hall of Wytheville Baptist Church

on the corner of Spring and Church Streets in Wytheville, Va.   Entrance is from the back of the Church between the Church and Wytheville Fire Department.  A free meal is provided for anyone who is hungry, each week on Monday and Thursday from 11:30 am to 1 pm.  Several Churches in Wytheville are involved in this ministry.

The kitchen is closed when Wythe County Public Schools are closed due to bad weather.
